Project Overview
A Modern Take on Tradition:
Revamping SaveCo’s Ramadan Campaign
Every year, SaveCo launches a Ramadan campaign featuring exclusive in-store and online offers tailored for those preparing for the month of fasting. This campaign includes adding new promotions to the eCommerce store, designing Ramadan-themed graphics, and developing targeted email marketing strategies to encourage purchases during this period.
My role in this campaign was to design the main promotional graphic/leaflet showcasing SaveCo’s best Ramadan offers. This leaflet served as the foundation for the campaign’s visual identity, influencing content across social media, in-store banners, signboards, website hero images, and more. Previously, SaveCo’s leaflets had a slightly outdated look, so the goal was to create a modern design while incorporating traditional elements to maintain cultural authenticity.

Clients Goal and Challenge
Client’s Goal
To create a modern, visually appealing Ramadan campaign that maintains traditional elements while ensuring consistency across all marketing channels. The key objective was to design a refreshed promotional leaflet featuring high-quality product photography and clean, engaging graphics. This leaflet would serve as the foundation for in-store and online content, effectively showcasing the best Ramadan offers and driving customer engagement.
Challenge
One of the main challenges was balancing a modern, visually appealing design with traditional Ramadan elements while ensuring clarity and consistency across multiple platforms. The leaflet needed to be visually rich yet easy to navigate, incorporating high-quality product photography and clean graphics without overwhelming the viewer. Additionally, maintaining brand consistency across social media, in-store banners, and website assets while adapting the design for different formats added another layer of complexity. The design needed to feel fresh and engaging for a younger audience while remaining familiar and clear for older shoppers.

My Process
Creative Process
1
Research & Inspiration
Conduct design research by analysing leaflets from top UK supermarkets to understand industry trends, layouts, and promotional strategies. Identify elements that make their designs effective while ensuring the leaflet aligns with SaveCo’s branding and Ramadan campaign goals. Gather insights on typography, colour schemes, and product placement to create a visually engaging and user-friendly design.
2
Photography & Assets
Source high-quality product images directly from brands where available. For any missing or low-resolution images, take professional product photos to maintain a consistent, clean look. Ensure all images are well-lit, clear, and aligned with the modern yet traditional aesthetic of the campaign. Organise assets efficiently for seamless integration into the leaflet design ensuring clear visibility of the product and the offering.
3
Design & Print Preparation
Design the leaflet following SaveCo’s campaign goals and selected colour scheme, balancing modern design with traditional Ramadan elements. Ensure the layout is clean, easy to navigate, and appealing to both younger and older audiences. Carefully format the leaflet for high-quality print output, checking resolution, colour accuracy, margins, and bleed to prevent printing issues. Double checking file exports to ensure to output issues.
4
Printing & Distribution
Print 50,000 copies of the leaflet with a professional printing service, ensuring consistency in colour and quality. Plan and execute a strategic distribution across Bradford, targeting key locations and areas around SaveCo stores, local businesses, and high-footfall areas to maximise reach and engagement with the Ramadan campaign. Focus on distributing to areas slighlty further away to draw in new customers and make more sales.
